Happy Birthday Mozart!

Happy 252nd birthday Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!

I join all Mozarteans and Mozart enthusiasts in commemorating the 252nd birthday anniversary of this genius wunderkind. How time flies. Two years ago, the classical music world was just celebrating his 250th worldwide, in concert halls, opera houses, open air concerts, and botanical gardens.

Among Mozart's greatest admirers, to name a few, included Haydn, Goethe, Kierkegaard, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Nietzsche, Debussy, and Britten.

To celebrate his birthday today, I'm listening to his Violin Concerto No. 5 and Piano Concerto No.23, interpreted by Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (Conductor - Karel Ancerl) and Prague Symphony Orchestra (Conductor - Pietro Argento), Violin - Wolfgang Schneiderhan, Piano - Julius Katchen. Being Sunday where I live, next, I'm going to enjoy Mozart's beautiful church sonatas (Kirchensonaten) interpreted by Bohuslav Matousek / Jaroslav Tuma & Collegium.

Later tonight, it'll be a video replay of The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) presented by The Australian Opera, sung in English, of course.

Simple celebration, but thoughtful. The memory of following in some of Mozart's footsteps six months ago - from Vienna (Wien) to Prague (Praha) - is ever fresh. Unforgettable, most significant, and a blessing.
