My point is that if the people of our coutry are the last to read what our educators are writing about and only hearing it from others, maybe we should turn off the T.V. and read a little more.
After Chavez mentioned Chomsky's book it went from 20,000+ on the Amazon list to #1, so I guess some people took his advice. I personally read the book befor Chavez and while I agree with some of it I also disagree with it. He is a little to liberal for me.
Chavez is highly educated and was an educator before he decided to become a paramilitant and conduct a coop. I also disagree with Pat Robertson's plan for dealing with Chavez too. ;)

- Ridiculous
For Chavez to accuse anyone of pillaging and exploitation is unbelievably audacious, to say the least. The man is a murderer and himself a dictator. I personally know people who were embroiled in the Venezuelan turmoil of Chavez's initial, violent coup and subsequent election. It's unfortunate he even gets an audience from the UN, but then again, this is a body that puts countries like Libya on Human Rights panels, so...what can you expect?
But for Chavez to then call Bush the "Devil." Come on. I don't care what you think of George W. Bush, but "the devil?" Good grief. Any U.S. citizen should be outraged at that... Republican or Democrat.

Maybe it takes one to know one?
Another option is that since the President is the First M.B.A to ever hold this office it could be that the only concern of his is the $$$.
Did you know that the Pentagon'f first name for "Operation Iraqi Freedom" was Operation Iraqi Liberation?
Something to ponder.

- Bush and the MBA
I think you've hit on something. While I strongly disagree that Bush thinks only about money, I nevertheless will agree that Bush reasons like a businessman.
He strikes me as a Wilsonian idealist when it comes to his visioning. But when it comes to his approach to politics - his executing the vision - he thinks and acts like a businessman.
I will be the first to admit that this combination - Wilsonian idealism with Adam Smith utilitarianism - sets up some problems. But there you have it.
