Lakoff claims the most important issue in American society is that of freedom. But, he shows that freedom has different meanings for different people. We learn that in our study of American history.

The men who led our country to nationhood were influenced by the movements coming up to them from the People. And, they were able to apply the knowledge they had garnered from their studies of the ancients in a mix that created what we have today.

But, what do we have today? Does it resemble what those Great Thinkers of the past had in mind when they crafted our foundational law, The Constitution of The United States of America?

What thinkers do we have today who are interpreting our Constitution as it is applied to our day to day experiences? Who speaks on behalf of the People? Do we have a voice in the mix?
